About Martin Smith

As an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Steele Capital understands that not everyone has the same financial goals. Our client’s financial security and well-being is extremely important to us. As a registered investment advisor (RIA) we are fiduciaries to our advisory clients. We provide our clients independent, objective, unbiased comprehensive investment advice on a fee basis. I received a BA in Economics from Simpson College. I then went on to obtain an MBA in Finance from Western Illinois University. I passed the Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination. Prior to joining Steele Capital Management in September of 2003, I worked for four years in the Chicago office of Prairie Capital Management, an ultra-high net worth investment consulting firm. I am very involved with the Simpson College athletic department. I am a member of the investment committee for Boy Scouts of Central Iowa. For the past five years with the help of my clients, we have collected over stocking hats, gloves and socks for the YMCA Supportive Housing Campus. Outside of work, I spend time attending my children’s sporting events and activities. My wife, Jennifer and I have been married since 1998, and have a 18 year old daughter, Megan and a 13 year old son, Jonathan.
