About Martin Wegmann

Climate Scientist, combining global to local environmental data with state-of-the-art data analytics to unravel questions in atmospheric and Earth science. This includes analysing processes and data ranging from the minute to decadal time scales and from the kilo to tera byte scale. Uplifting my community, my colleagues and (climate) science is what keeps me going every day. Wants to break up science silos. Using creativity, empathy and interdisciplinarity to combine ideas, communities and data that usually do not talk to each other. The big problems of today can only be tackled together. Bravery, diversity and professionalism are my core values. This is reflected in the output and nature of my work. Service-oriented and driven by the notion of supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals with my work, also through fostering Open Science. In my scientific work, I always focus on research-to-operations and science-to-services. In my non-scientific work, I manage ideas, science and communities to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. Loves graphic and communication design and tries to apply this to science communication. I often wonder about how to deliver (my) messages visually, delve into graphic design magazines and look out for new font types or color palettes.
