About Martin Westerkamp

I am a civil engineer with more than thirteen years professional experience in project and contract management within different EPC business industries. During my professional career I have taken various team and functional leadership roles along with their respective responsibilities. Specifically related to my career in contract management execution I have prepared and successfully enforced various complex time and cost claims towards both, customers and sub-contractors. Further comprehensive tasks such as the management of internal and external interfaces, business process management, implementation of project strategies or exercise of contractual risk and requirements management have also formed part of my work activities. Thereupon I could develop an excellent understanding of contract management as an integral part of a success-oriented project management, which enabled me to provide highly professional support to my business partners. During my scientific career I was engaged in the research into management of complex cooperation research projects, where I could foster my project management competencies on a very high level, resulting in the conferral of my doctorate. Within my role as a research associate I could also improve my skills in terms of presentation, mentoring and leadership. During that time I was further self-employed in the field of contract and claims management, so that I can demonstrate a constant record of business experience.
