About Martina Mitchell

My professional experiences emerged from a career in public health and public education. My education credentials consist of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology as well as a Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis on Health Promotion and Education. I am a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) with National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC). I have been responsible for the training/education (including curriculum development and assessment) for both young and adult learners, program management/implementation and evaluation of evidence-based community preventative health services and early childhood education and care. My acquisition of knowledge regarding quality early childhood care and education began years ago as a participant of Head Start. Presently, to be effective and resourceful in supporting programs and partners, there must be collaborative engagement to increase knowledge and evidence-based practices regarding policies/regulations and create standardize practices to maintain quality early childhood education and care outcomes.
