About Marty Pieper

I have 20+ years in the engineering field. I am very proficient with 3D solid modeling. I started in ProEngineer (Creo), then moved to Solidworks, and I currently work in Autodesk Inventor. I have worked in a management role, but have always kept my design engineering skills sharpened on a daily basis. I strive to complete the same designs and engineering as my department so I can easily understand any issues that they may have been experiencing. I also work closely with project management, quality, and purchasing. I am currently with IDX as a senior design engineer and have a total of 5+ years of store fixture experience. I design, engineer, and create working drawings of fixtures for a variety of major retailers. I have also been able to help our customers value engineer a product to meet their current design criteria, in turn saving them money and keeping the look and feel of the existing product. My previous job at Munich Welding, I was the engineering manager. We engineered structural steel platforms, grating, and handrails for the food industry. We also engineered waste water tanks as well as belt presses for the mining industry. Various materials were utilized such as stainless steel, aluminum, and AR500 steel plates. At Otis Elevator, I was the design manager for traditional products. My background was in the design/mechanical engineering field. I worked with engineers on various components of the elevator system, such as hoistway, machine room, cabs, and entrances. I received an ACE certification which involved relentless root cause analysis, process improvement, value stream mapping, turnback recording, waste elimination, and 5S.
