Blending arts and science to build a peaceful world~ one talk, one workshop, one conversation at a time.I’m Maruee Pahuja, a visual artist at heart, a scientist in mind, and a lifelong learner in soul.You’ll often find me in my clinic, helping patients see clearly again through specialty contact lenses, or helping children with progressive myopia control. At other times, I’m at global peacebuilding conferences, giving talks and facilitating workshops that advocate for the transformative role of the arts in leadership, well-being, and peace. And most often i am in my studio, immersed in creating conceptual artworks, researching, and weaving connections between the seemingly siloed worlds of arts, science, and peacebuilding.My journey is one of weaving together disciplines, generations, and geographies to ask: What does it mean to perceive, to feel, and to co-create a more curious and compassionate world?Over the years, I have conceptualised and facilitated 500+ creative workshops across continents, both online and offline, in partnership with more than 25 not-for-profit organisations. Each session has been a unique exploration of creativity, dialogue, and human connection.A central motif in my work is the eye a site of both science and metaphor. As an eye-care practitioner at Natasha Eye Care & Research Centre, my medical expertise informs my artistic and facilitation practice in ways that are rare and deeply interconnected. Currently, I am working on a series of conceptual art pieces that unite art, vision science, and peacebuilding. These works explore sight and insight, asking how perception shapes the world we build together. How do our inner and outer visions connect or divide us? My pieces are not merely visual objects, but invitations to engage with themes of identity, perception, empathy, and peace.Whether through hands-on curriculum design, talks and storytelling, expressive arts-based community building, or immersive installations, my work seeks to bridge health, humanities, and deep inquiry.At its heart, everything I do is about creating spaces where people can perceive with more depth and clarity- literally and figuratively!
