About Mary Blanchard

I've worked at multiple retail and food industry places in my early twenties while I was also completing my Associates degree. I've gained a lot of experience with customer service and customer-based problem solving. The last food industry job I was working for was at The Colombia Restaurant in Ybor city. I started as a hostess and moved up to hostess supervisor in a year. The fast-paced environment, constant problem solving, and money management aspect worked well with my personality. I also had leadership and training duties, which I was able to adapt to using skills from my second job at HCC. At the HCC college, I worked as a receptionist and math tutor where I gained and strengthened communication and leadership skills as well as. Required tasks included lesson planning for multiple tutoring sessions, communicating constantly between faculty and professors, and being able to individualize sessions. Receptionist aspects included knowing the department's policies in its entirety and being able to communicate towards students in a kind manner. This, along with managing phone lines, transferring calls, replying to emails, taking inventory and opening/ closing duties. Currently, I've graduated from HCC and am continuing my education at USF.
