About Mary Chaffin

Mary Chaffin is a fourth-year student at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. Mary is graduating in May 2024 with a B.S. in Hospitality Management on a hospitality information technology track. During her years in university, she has been working in the hospitality industry in various positions and capacities. In addition to gaining experience within the industry, Ms. Chaffin has been involved in many different clubs and organizations. During her studies, she has dedicated her efforts towards learning more about the lodging and event planning industries with increasing interests in the lifestyle communities industry. Mary kickstarted her career in the hospitality industry through participating in the Disney College Program. During her time in the program, she held various positions as a quick-service food and beverage Cast Member during the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot, a quick-service food and beverage Cast Member in outdoor vending, as well as an attractions and operations Cast Member at Epcot’s ‘Mission: Space’. These positions have helped her gain a diverse skillset that includes flexibility, problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to delivering exemplary customer service. Currently, Mary is a front desk/concierge representative at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. In addition to her career, Mary has served for many organizations, including volunteering as a mentor and an events committee member of the global award winning Peer Outreach Mentor Program (POMP) at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College as well as assisting on the Events Team with HerCampus UCF, an online magazine targeted at the female college student demographic. Along with her participation in POMP and HerCampus, she is also an active member in Rosen College’s Honor Society- Eta Sigma Delta. Upon the completion of her degree in May, Mary plans on continuing her education with a M.B.A. in Project Management while growing her skills and experiences within the hospitality industry.
