About Mary Clement

I work with administrators,technical and functional users in higher education to create custom applications for extracting, transforming and displaying data. These data solutions drive business processes and allow for analysis to support decision making. I have 15 years of experience working with student and academic data. Beginning in the Office of the Registrar as the Functional Support Specialist, I was the first line of technical support for student systems. I trained functional staff, faculty and administrators on the use of internal student information and reporting software. I was promoted to coordinator of student systems and reporting(SIS admin) as my responsibilities grew. As The Senior Research Analyst, I developed a local datamart for capturing, cleaning and reporting real-time enrollment information. I led our team in using Argos to create several datablocks for standard surveys and the common dataset to improve office efficiency. As Assistant Director of DSIR, I supervised office projects, supported other analysts with code review and design, and participated on data standards and SACs committees. I love working with faculty, administrators, and functional support staff to make sense of the data that is being collected across divisions. Data quality and integrity is the foundation of all organizations; we cannot expect good decision making from bad data.
