About Mary Corbitt

I am a dedicated, organized, and goal driven teacher with 20 years of teaching experience spanning second, third, and fourth grades. I believe in focusing on higher level thinking as well as developing the whole child. My philosophy is to teach my students to challenge themselves academically and I believe that all students should be held to the highest standard. In my classroom, I teach my students how to be responsible and take control of their actions. Moreover, it’s also important for children to feel good about themselves and take pride in their classwork. This is achieved by modeling, having regular discussions and lessons with the students, and having a strong classroom discipline plan where students are encouraged and rewarded for good behavior and are held responsible for choices that break our class standard. I want my students to enjoy learning and take an active role in their education. At the end of the school year, my students will be better thinkers, learners, and well rounded people, ready to face the future.
