About Mary Duling

As a recent graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.A. in English (concentration in Pre-Law Studies), as well as a minor in Literature and Sociology, I’m extremely passionate about using communication, advocacy, and legal knowledge to make a positive impact on both individuals and communities alike. My academic journey, paired with hands-on experience in leadership, community outreach, and legal assistance, has cultivated my drive to pursue a career in law. During my time at Virginia Tech, I gained valuable leadership and support experience through a wide variety of critical roles I was apart of. As a Student Manager, I had the opportunity to develop strong organizational and communication skills, while also managing and resolving conflicts on all organizational levels. Additional experiences, such as serving as Community Outreach Chair within my pre-law fraternity and my involvement with the Victim Witness Assistance Program in Giles County, Virginia, further honed my passion for advocating for social justice, raising awareness on legal issues, and allowing me to assist individuals navigating the legal system. Now, as a current Legal Assistant, I am able to further embrace these passions through providing clerical aid to attorneys and continuing to learn within the legal realm. As I hope to one day continue my educational journey through law school, these experiences have solidified my enthusiasm for law and equity.
