I got to Mobile Alabama to work on the LCS and about a month later they wanted to send me back (short 1 year!) but since I only had about 24 hours notice to drive down to alabama I was not entirely well packed. I got here and had no ID on me and was unable to cash my checks. I lived off the card and when I was told I had to return to maine I was unable to financially so I wound up having no alternative but to quit my job with BIW. I stayed here and was enrolled into the welding training school at bender shipyard. I later (months later) returned to Maine where all my children and grandkids reside but only for my daughter's graduation as I am stuck living in alabama. Because I went to maine for the graduation, I am jobless.so I am presently wandering the world with the unemployed. gotta say that my work at BIW was my favorite job in my life as I loved being a grinder.
