About Mary Manafi

My career focus is to deliver quality services, with reliable and practical technical advice and support. I have been working as a Civil Engineer over 14 years (more than 6 years in Australia and over 8 years overseas) providing a number of talents in a variety of projects for government departments and the private sector, on behalf of my employer. My assignments were generally design and draft for medium to large scale civil infrastructure projects, predominantly roads and highways, road upgrades / renovations in country areas, urban developments as well as industrial and residential developments. The work scope has also included delivering project design / drafting for drainage, water and sewer reticulation and BRS. Furthermore, I have prepared technical drawings from design through to ASCON, QA and documentation controls. AutoCAD, 12D and Excel are my software of choice and I have a good working knowledge of HEC-RAS, PC Convey and Land Desktop (earlier version of Civil 3D). I’ve referenced designing and drafting requirements per Australian Standards, VPA, WSAA, likewise customizations and technical specifications, plus various internationally accepted Manuals. Having worked for several leading consulting firms, I am well accustomed to best practices applied in my field. In addition to this, I am proficient in cost estimation, assessing development submissions, identifying and proposing alternatives. As a trained Surveyor, I also have demonstrated experience preparing cadastral and topographic maps, surveying database collection and controls. I’m comfortable dealing with personnel from all levels of an organisation, while being a team player and supporting my senior engineers during project negotiations with stakeholders, in order to meet their needs and timelines. I have completed Certificates in Primavera 6 (Project Management) and Arc GIS, thus bringing additional skills to the business. Managing my time and resources to the best of my ability, I work well autonomously and within a team environment, with the aim of adding value to the project and therefore the organisation I represent. Being results orientated, I will use my initiative to find solutions to challenges that arise. I enjoy business networking while maintaining a professional relationship with my co-workers. I possess excellent rapport building skills. I’m an honest and reliable person with a can-do attitude, having a passion for my profession.
