About Mary Marx

Mary Marx is the President & CEO of the Pace Center for Girls and in her ten-year tenure as CEO has led the organization through an extensive period of growth. Pace is comprised of twenty-one Pace Centers and twelve outreach programs across Florida. With a combined staff of more than 500 and a $48M operating budget, Pace changes the life trajectory of more than girls and young women in Florida annually. Marx’s 2009 appointment as the CEO of Pace marked a new era for the organization. Over the past ten years she has led Pace through a major organizational transformation, implementing a growth strategy that has more than doubled the number of girls reached by Pace each year, increased revenue to sustain this growth and significantly advanced Pace’s programs, services and impact across Florida. Under Marx’ leadership, the organization enhanced capacity in the areas of program operations, leadership development, technology and resource development and partnered with the legislature and the executive branch to implement policies that have reduced the rate of justice system involvement for girls by more than fifty percent. Her proudest accomplishment however, is uniting all twenty-one Pace Centers behind a common vision. Marx has led large multi-site not for profit agencies focused on the well-being of children for more than 25 years. She was a fellow in the inaugural Results for America Non-Profit Fellowship, serves on the Legislative Committee for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and several committees for Leadership Florida and Leadership Jacksonville and the Women’s Giving Alliance. Marx is a graduate of Reed College in Portland, Oregon and serves as the Counselor for Rotary Youth Exchange, providing mentorship and support to foreign exchange students in NE Florida.
