About Mary Masterson

Dr Masterson is Assocaite Professor in Education at the School of Education, University of Limerick, Ireland. Former post-primary school teacher of German, History & Information & Communication Technologies. She is an experienced multilingual cross-cultural educator, educational researcher and teacher educator. She is the Initial Teacher Education (ITE).Erasmus ambassador for the national eTwinning programme in Ireland, an initiative that fosters international school partnerships supporting internationalisation of the curriuclum at home through virtual and exchange. She has organised national and international seminars and conferences. She publishes and supervises research on topics such as intercultual communication and understanding, migrant education, linguistic & cultural diversity, teacher well-being, collaborative work and online learning. She has worked with the national State Examinations Commission. She has been an external examiner in the School of Education at the University of Galway, Ireland. and is currently an external examiner at University College Cork, Ireland She has been a guest Professor at the University of Kassel Germany.
