About Mary Putera

For over twenty years I have been immersed in the work of community development, health and well being. My professional experience and educational pursuits integrate the fields of intercultural relations, mental health, peace building, spiritual care and social transformation. My work in Expressive Arts and Community Art Practice become a fluid practice between interpersonal and interpersonal efforts of peace building and social transformation amidst culturally diverse communities, organizations and religious groups. As an Expressive Arts Therapist and Community Art Facilitator, I have taught and/or provided supervision for graduate students in Nepal, Nicaragua, Canada, Switzerland a and the US. Community Art Practice is the beautiful work of coherence. Through play, high sensitivity low skill art making, and engagement with imagination, community compassion, well being and wholeness can be increased. The beauty of being human together engaged in making something brings new perspective, fresh awareness to the way people live and work together, and people are changed.As a pastor, therapist, teacher, supervisor, consultant and advisor I am always working to increase inner and community peace.
