Mary F. Shook, MSN, RN-BC is currently a House Supervisor at Fairfield Medical Center. Previously Mary was an Administrative Nursing Supervisor at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at the Ohio Stare Wexner Medical Center. For 3 years prior, Mary was the manager of the Clinical and Research Informatics department at the James. In her role as Clinical Informatics manager, Mary was responsible for the operational leadership of the James Cancer Program Clinical Informatics department. This includes support of clinical and business operations by allocating informatics resources and coordinating the work of the Clinical Informatics staff, including the roles of Nursing Informatics Consultants and Nursing Informatics Specialists. Prior to this Mary was a Clinical Informatics Specialist at the James. Mary earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Education degrees from Capital University located in Bexley, Ohio. She has 20 years of nursing experience and more than 13 years of experience in Informatics. From January 2015-December 2018 Mary was an Adjunct Professor at Capital University in the School of Nursing where she taught Nursing Informatics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mary is a member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA) and served as the Secretary for the Ohio Chapter, Ohio Nursing Informatics Organization (ONIO), and has earned her Epic Clinical Informaticist and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Informatics certifications.
