About Mary Spencer

I am a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University, where I am building the knowledge and skills to support individuals through evidence-based and culturally responsive care. Alongside my graduate studies, I serve as a Mental Health Intern, providing individual and group therapy to clients navigating a wide range of challenges. This role has strengthened my ability to foster connection, hold space for healing, and support clients in their recovery and growth. I am also actively engaged in research focused on the importance of cultural humility in counselor education and training. My goal is to integrate research insights into clinical practice, ensuring that my work promotes inclusivity, equity, and meaningful client outcomes. I aim to integrate research, cultural responsiveness, and clinical practice to promote meaningful outcomes and holistic well-being for diverse populations.
