About Mary Stolberg
I returned to school late in life to get an M.S. in accounting. I began Cove Creek Bookkeeping in April 2011. My specialty is eldercare, and I have worked closely family members, lawyers and CPAs to resolve tax and estate issues for clients. I also have a keen interest in sustainable accounting and on-line education. I recently served on a UNC system-wide committee to develop on-line resources for basic financial accounting courses. I have a demonstrated ability to collate, organize, and analyze complex data – skills acquired during my many years writing about tax and legal issues. I have published three books and many popular and scholarly articles. As a former reporter for the Pittsburgh Press, I covered the U.S. District Court for Western Pennsylvania and the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. My investigations of bankruptcy cases prompted the IRS to pursue several fraud indictments. I was one of the few non-lawyers to be considered for a federal judicial fellowship. I have taught at the University of Virginia, Appalachian State University, and Caldwell Community College
