About Mary Tran

I am a recent graduate of Virginia Tech with my Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Sciences with a Biomedical concentration and a minor in Medicine & Society. I am looking for an opportunity in the research field whether it be clinical or agricultural since I have interests in both areas. I became interested in the research field and working in a lab setting after taking a Microbiology lab course at Virginia Tech in my sophomore year and have since worked as an Undergraduate Lab Assistant in a research lab for the Williams Lab as a part of the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. These experiences along with my coursework at Tech has solidified my passion for this field of work and I would love to learn more and grow as a researcher and scientist while also contributing to the ever evolving world of science. These experiences along with being a part of Alpha Omega Epsilon - a professional and social sorority for women in STEM - has taught me that I want to make a difference in others’ lives and help others in whatever ways I can.
