Organized and results oriented professional with excellent skills in auditing and compliance, accounting, data processing, public relations, medical coding/billing and office management. I started my career with Cerner as an accountant for Cerner’s Third Party Administrator, the Healthe Exchange in 2007 with extensive experience in accounting and office management. In 2010 I transitioned to the Quality Assurance – Regulatory organization as a Regulatory Affairs specialist covering CAPA, Document Control and Corporate Training. With Cerner, I successfully completed Targeted Selection and was instrumental in securing an additional accountant for the Healthe Exchange. Previously to joining Cerner, I supervised a team of 18 Income Control auditors with Harrah’s, North Kansas City. I was responsible for preparing all necessary documents for the internal and external auditors, both industry and government assigned. Additionally, I reviewed all findings with auditors to provide corrective actions when warranted as well as ensure implementation of proper procedures within the Income Control department. I reported all findings to the executive team at Harrah’s North Kansas City on a quarterly basis and annual to the company headquarters in Las Vegas, NE. I managed all personnel records including associate benefits, FMLA, short term and long term leave. Additionally, I handled all coaching, both promotional and disciplinary for the Income Control department. Prior to my career path change I worked exclusively in the medical coding/billing field from 1995 to 2001. My experience included coding and billing of both inpatient and outpatient Excelsior Spring Medical Center, Excelsior Springs Ambulance Service coding and billing as well as all for Dr. Sidney Cantrell while employed as his office manager. I feel my auditing, supervisory and coding skills would be an asset in this role.
