About Mason Biswas

I am a revenue clerk in the Utility Billing Investigation Unit under the Revenue Services branch for the City of Toronto. I have been a member of Local 79 for 8 years.I am a recent graduate in Professional Accounting from Humber College and an aspiring CPA candidate. I intend to complete the CPA Professional Education Program and ultimately obtain my CPA designation. Academically, I have a strong interest in accounting, statistics, analytics, and the applications of these studies in the professional sports industry. As a varsity athlete on the Humber Hawks Men's Cross Country Team, I have become familiar with working in a competitive, fast-paced environment, as part of a team and independently. Having been involved in both academic and athletic competitions, throughout high school and university, I am eager to apply what I have learned from these experiences in a practical and professional environment, where I am required to stay ahead of the pack and not fall behind.I have applied the skills I acquired from my studies and extra-curriculars, into my professional experience. I previously held the role of a customer service representative for the City of Toronto where I exercised strong verbal communication skills and precise time-management. I developed positive relationships with customers at all touchpoints, and added value to client experiences wherever I could to increase retention. This type of experience motivates me to take on bigger roles and not back down from challenges.
