ABOUT THE BETTERMENT PROJECT: The Betterment Project exists to empower young men and provide them with the guidance and support they need to shape a better future. We aim to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and suicide by cultivating good habits in young men before bad behaviour manifests. More broadly, our purpose is to provide the tools, through outreach workshops to foster respectful relationships with themselves and with women. In my senior year, I was elected by the staff, younger peers and the prefect body to by the School Captain. In this role I led 8 portfolios that each focused on different aspects of school life – from sport to arts. As school captain I addressed the ingrained disrespect our society has against women and encouraged our community to change its behaviour. I further appeared on the Today show, Triple J, The Project and 60 Minutes.
