About Mason Long

I am the first in my family to achieve a college degree. I am a graduate from Killgore College in Kilgore Texas with an associates of applied science in corrosion technology. I am originally from Denver Colorado where I was born and raised. I moved from Denver to east Texas in 2012 to get back in school and finish with a good degree. When I started school my major was mechanical engineering but, I had changed my mind a few times. I then heard about Kilgore College's Corrosion Technology program and was instantly very interested. The program taught me all the basics in cathodic protection, intro to corrosion, internal and external corrosion control, coatings, and integrity management. Upon graduation in spring of 2017 I had started the process of aquiring my CP1 certification by taking the technical portion of the exam and passed with an 89% and as of October 18, 2017 I am officially CP1 certified. Since then at my time with DCP Midstream as a level 3 Corrosion Technician I have achieved my goals of acquiring my CP2 as well as CIP2. With this I hope to further expand my experience and knowledge in the field and am open to many different roles. In addition, outside of my professional career I love being with my family. I have two little boys that constantly keep me on my toes. Aside from family life I enjoy working on cars, fishing, snowboarding, biking, home improvement projects, and I am a big lover of animals and pets.
