About Mason Steinhauer

During my four years at Northern Michigan University, I spent a lot of time doing extracurricular activities related to the field of Psychology. I was on the board of my university's Psi Chi chapter, which is the International honors society in Psychology. I served as the Induction Officer for one year, and then as the Vice President for another year. In addition, I was also involved in research, conducting research studies for two labs. The first lab being the CABIN Lab (Cognitive x Behavioral Integrative Neuroscience Lab), where I was fortunate enough to be third author on a journal article involve the human attentional bias towards positive climate-related images. While in the CABIN Lab, I also presented research on 2 different research studies, at numerous psychology conferences in the US. The second lab, called the Psychopharmacology Lab, is where I helped on research projects involving typical and atypical antipsychotic drugs used to treat Schizophrenia. In addition to these academic achievements, I have spent over 300 hours participating in community service, such as volunteering at The Women's Center located in Marquette, Michigan. I also volunteered at a kid's camp, Camp STAR, where children who suffered a major loss of a loved one could spend time learning how to cope and talk about their losses. I have over 6 years of experience in customer service as a server, hostess, bartender, as well as experience as a barista. I have 11 months of experience working in an inpatient psychiatric care with children and adolescents, as well as life coaching experience and experience with conducting drug abuse assessments for DFWP employees.
