About Massimo Rigo

I was born and raised in Trieste, where I completed my Master's degree in Chemistry. Following an enriching experience during my Erasmus project abroad, I pursued a doctoral scholarship in Germany, where I lived for the following nine years. During my PhD, funded by a Marie Curie Action, I had constant and constructive exchanges with colleagues from all over Europe, learning to quickly adapt to different situations and contexts. My academic journey concluded after a period at the Technische Universitaet Berlin, where I switched research fields to broaden my scientific horizons. Subsequently, I worked as a chemist in a small CRO, swiftly progressing to the position of laboratory manager. In 2022, I returned to Italy and assumed the role of Business Development Manager at a CDMO specializing in chemical/biotechnological research services. Concurrently, I embarked on a training program at MIB School of Management in Trieste to enhance my managerial and business skills, complementing my scientific background. As of July, I am proudly employed at Area Science Park, where I have the opportunity to re-engage with the international sphere and contribute to high-level research. My primary focus is identifying new collaboration opportunities between public research institutions and the private sector.
