About Massimo Spadoni

Massimo Spadoni was born in Rieti in 1966 and is currently senior scientist at CNR - Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering in Montelibretti - Roma (Italy). He works in the field of environmental geochemistry and geochemical mapping and is specialized in the geochemical characterization of soils, rocks, waters and soil gasses. His routinary works include the use of different extraction techniques on solid matrices, the study of fractionation of stable isotopes in water environment, gamma radiation analyses to characterize the natural occurring radioactive materials, gas-chromatographic analyses focused to the study of the composition of soil gasses in peri-volcanic areas. He's also specialized in spatial analyses by using geographic information systems, multivariate statistics and geostatistical techniques. He was professor on contract of "tematic mapping" at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome for five years and author of the logical structure of national databases dedicated to the storage of geological data. Involved in scientific projects of environmental quality in Argentina, Madagascar, India and China, published more than 70 papers on scientific peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is programme coordinator, from the Italian side, of the Memorandum of Understanding between Department of Earth System Science and Environmental Technologies of the Italian National Research Council (Rome, Italy)and National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Nagpur, India). He's also project manager of the Eu co-funded project TECO "Technological Eco - Innovations for the Quality Control and the Decontamination of Polluted Waters and Soils".
