About Matei Vasilache

I am very proud to be part of the Anti Financial Crime department of Deutsche Bank. I consider the opportunity to work in a team which provides crucial Know-Your-Client capabilities to be significant to my career development. This experience rigorously trains my skills and work ethic by challenging me to provide high quality code in a tightly regulated sector such as banking. I strongly believe in growth and I insist that the best way to learn, is to start doing. This belief, coupled with my blended knowledge of engineering and business, is why I think I was able to grow from a junior position to a pillar of my team, my responsibilities now including mentoring graduate new joiners. My journey started at the University of Manchester, of which I am an alumni with a Computer Science with Business and Management degree. During my time here, I understood the importance of work experience and opted for a placement year. I was offered a position at Nokia Networks where I got a taste of the industry. By the end of the year I was a productive and independent member of the team and was offered to extend the contract until I was required to go back university. This was a much appreciated validation of my efforts.
