About Mateus Peixoto

Product design manager with over 12 years of experience. Currently based in Amsterdam, I lead the design system and merchants' backoffice app (the Yoco app) at Yoco, building tools that are seamless and impactful. I’ve spent much of my career in fintech, where I’ve tackled complex problems and delivered high-impact solutions. For the last 2.5 years, I’ve managed and coached teams, fostering creativity while delivering results. Highlights include leading the Yoco app launch with a team of four designers and driving Nubank’s Personal Loans project as the sole designer—both 1.5-year efforts that exceeded benchmarks and created meaningful impact. My expertise spans typography, icon design, prototyping, and building scalable systems like design systems and information architectures. I’m passionate about simplifying complexity and crafting intuitive experiences. Outside work, I’m into cycling, drawing, photography, and traveling. My journey into design was inspired by my father, an architect, and skateboarding’s DIY culture—both shaped my creative mindset and storytelling approach.
