About Matheus S.

Matheus Sabino Viana received both the Doctor of Science (DSc) degree (2024) and the Master of Science (MSc) degree (2018) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, from the Polytechnic School of Universidade de São Paulo (USP). He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree (2002) from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). Currently, he is an independent Consultant in Power Systems, and Postdoctoral Researcher at USP. He was a Team Leader in the Network Department at PSR Soluções e Consultoria em Energia Ltda, a Researcher and Consultant at MRTS Consultoria em Engenharia S/S, and Head of Switchgear and Automation Team at WEG Equipamentos Elétricos S/A. His research and consultancy fields are power systems' electro energetic and regulatory studies. He has a professional experience of more than 20 years in power systems, covering (i) planning studies involving Composite System Reliability (CSR), technologies for transmission systems flexible planning, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and energy systems decarbonization;(ii) regulatory studies in transmission and distribution systems supplying of electrical systems, equipment, and services for large industries;(iv) team coordination; and (v) training and lectures. He is a reviewer for the journal Applied Energy and a member of the - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Power and Energy Society (PES). He holds a professional registration with CREA-SP.
