My journey through law school has been an unusual one. From the first month of 1L at Charleston School of Law, I was granted permission to work at a restaurant as a bartender for about 30 hours a week and I continued to do just that while juggling 1L, 2L, and 3L. Though I never engaged with student organizations at my law school, I did engage with my community, showcase my drive, and continue to excel in law school. I believe that my experience in the service industry is more of a positive for my legal career rather than a negative; I've learned how to multi-task, prioritize, engage and cultivate professional relationships and professionalism. Since Graduating, I've returned to Portland Oregon, sat for the Oregon Bar Exam, and am currently awaiting my results while working for a local attorney here to gain experience. I believe I am a fast learner, a tenacious worker, and could bring valuable life and legal experience to any workplace I am given the pleasure of being apart of.
