Managing Broker, Principal, Consultant (18 years experience)Mat is in the role of his lifetime as a senior-level broker at CARR covering all of the Carolinas in Healthcare Real Estate. Mat was born and raised in Middlebury, Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in politics and a minor in English. He worked in public relations and was a legislative aide for Governor John Rowland. Mat transitioned into his 10-year corporate marketing career by utilizing his administrative experience to overhaul and augment small to mid-size marketing departments in two large building products companies. His marketing career culminated in his role as the Marketing Communications Manager at James Hardie Building Products in Chicago where he acted as the interface to Leo Burnett, the company's world renowned advertising agency.In 2007, Mat and his wife moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to raise their two children and begin his second career in real estate. He was Rookie of the Year at Keller Williams Ballantyne Area where he honed his sales and business development skills and helped the market center develop its five-year marketing strategy. KW Ballantyne is the number one market center in the entire Keller Williams Corporate structure.Mat broke out on his own after a two-year period with Keller Williams. Traver Realty & Associates was the eventual result. The firm was comprised of a very cohesive team of eighteen full-time agents, each with their own specialties and experiences. A great firm with very well-trained and respected brokers, the firm was a great success. In the beginning of 2020, Mat decided that he wanted to break away from residential real estate and embrace new challenges. In May of 2020 Mat joined HomeRiver Group (HRG), a national property management company as its managing broker. Mat's main roles were to create the infrastructure required to build a national brokerage platform AND to manage the day to day operations of brokerage as HRG's Broker-In-Charge. A truly great fit for his skill-set and experience. In September 2023, Mat made the move to CARR, the nation's leading healthcare-specific nationwide brokerage. Quite the feat. At Carr, Mat is responsible for consulting doctors, physicians groups, developers and major institutions on their overall real estate strategies, sourcing properties and connecting his clients with top-notch resources including lenders, general contractors and attorneys.
