About Mathew Canida

I obtained my EMT at the age of 21 after having been affiliated with an Emergency Service for nearly 7 years volenteering as an Explorer (where I served as president), Obtaining my Certified First Responder at 18 years old. I saw lives come into the world, and I was with many as they drew their last breath. For the ones that I could help, I focused on being professional, caring, and attentive to their needs, for the ones that I could not help, I resigned myself to maintaining their dignity as they passed. I began work in the security field at 20 years old, and caught "the bug". I felt as though I was able to help those in need in a way I had not experienced in my prior EMT career. I now focus on keeping people safe, but not just those I am contracted to, rather everyone in the community that my contract belongs in. I keep a watchful eye out for anything out of the ordinary, and call the police when something outside of my own contract is wrong. I believe that this method of security quiets down neighborhoods that are more prone to crime, which in turn keeps my own contracts safe. I still see the best in society, as well as the worse that society has to offer, but I take my past experience as an EMT and apply to what I do now in order to take stress involved in that on a day to day bases. I constantly seek to better myself in my career and education, in order to help myself, those I manage, and those I help to keep safe.
