Mathews Chirasha Wanjala holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Management (Finance and Banking) from Egerton University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nairobi. He has amassed more than 9 years middle to senior level management working experience in programme development, management as well as consultancy. He has specialized skills and experiences in NGOs, designing and managing projects, carrying out evaluations, studies, assessments, financial analysis and budgeting as well as managing contracts. Mathews has a solid foundation in Value Chain Studies/Analysis, Markets Development/analysis, Business Development Support, Training and Capacity Building, Livelihoods Assessments, Baseline Survey, Social/Economic Research and Trade analysis. Through various specialized trainings, Mathews has been trained and approved as a SME consultant and Market/BDS facilitator. Additionally, Mathews has taken up Participatory Market Systems Development (PMSD),(including market selection, market analysis and participatory market mapping) as a way of studying, understanding and analyzing market development and value chain analysis in all sectors in terms of Market chain, support services and enabling environment. In addition, Mathews is an expert in using EMMA toolkit (Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis) as a way of analyzing and reconstructing livelihoods through market-led approaches, especially after disasters and emergencies have struck communities. Mathews has been carrying out trainings in PMSD and EMMA as well as using them for market and livelihood assessments.
