About Mathias King

There has always been a fascination about organic chemistry for me, ever since the first experiences back in university. The idea of combining the same building blocks and achieve as diverse effects as complex aromas, powerful APIs or highly selective pesticides was just mind boggling. So my first approach to chemistry was a synthetic one and it carried me well through my academical career. Learning how to perform and control reactions to achieve the best solution to a challenging problem or a demanding environment. All the while building molecules from the ground up. Working in an industrial setting added the idea of employing more economical routes rather than faster routes. Even if this involved tearing molecules down to get to their desired metabolites. But that was not the only new experience waiting. Learning how to lead a team and working with a wide variety of colleagues. Getting to know the daily work of organizing and running a lab efficiently. As well as searching new sources, suppliers and solutions for everyday obstacles, helped me in planning new software, new synthesis routes and new production procedures to improve on the established.
