About Mathieu Barbier

Having contributed in many ways to a very active field of physics, I acquired skills and abilities useful beyond the scope of research. The investigation of phases of matter required me to think logically, systematically and even creatively, especially when developing and writing new codes in different languages, such as Python and C++. Since the successful projects I have been either leading or majorly contributing to were accomplished within collaborations with excellent researchers of other institutes, I gained crucial competences such as teamwork, communication and reliability. The subsequent publications of the various results demanded me to write papers in a concise, precise and informative way. Furthermore through the conferences and workshops I visited, during which I frequently held talks, taught me to be comfortable with public speaking and allowed me to develop my personal presentation style, praised by many in the scientific community.
