Computational material scientist specialized in disordered solids (e.g, glasses and cementitious materials). Applies modeling approaches (molecular dynamics, peridynamics, machine learning) to decipher the physics and chemistry governing the properties of complex materials. Presently Associate Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Research interests include- Discovery of new non-crystalline materials using machine learning and big data- Topological constraint theory for disordered atomic networks- Mechanical properties of glasses- Atomic structure of glasses- Chemical durability of glasses for nuclear waste immobilization- Relaxation of glasses - Aging of cement binders and concrete- Irradiation-induced damage in concrete.
