About Mathijs Degryse

I am Mathijs Degryse, born in 1984 in a family with 7 children. I grew up in a warm nest next to 6 sisters (am I hear you rightly think). There you will learn the skills of conflict management, patience and flexibility, but also empathy, cooperation and, above all, independence. Studying was a little lower on my priority list. I met my girlfriend (now my wife), played football and spent a lot of time in the Chiro where I could express my creativity. At the end of my studies I had a cash flow problem and that's when I learned what a pivot was. My youthful, brash life had to make way for a job in the corporate world. I am quite proud that I have been able to climb the ladder within various companies. Because then my internal entrepreneurship came out. Taking responsibility and organizing has been in my blood since I was little, just like my almost compulsive ambition to win and make an impact. In addition to my job, I have a fantastic family, together with my wife I have 3 children (2008, 2012, 2015). Over the past 12 years we have not been spared and our imaginary backpack is quite full. The carefree youthful life made way for (harsh) reality,"Every disadvantage has its advantage," Johan Cruijff once said. From this I learned to be resilient and cultivated perseverance. It also teaches you to put things into perspective. one aspect that has remained underexposed for the time being is my negative aspects. Every strength is also a weakness somewhere and vice versa. So here is a catalog of weaknesses: can't lose, too flexible, sensitive to taking on too much, a bit stubborn. I have many interests, which relates to my experiences on LinkedIn in which I combine things. Many people see this as a negative, but it keeps me sharp and motivated to keep going. I have an above-average need for challenge. Next steps? Although I have been an entrepreneur for years, I now have the decisiveness to become and being an entrepreneur myself. Ambitious as I am, I want to conquer the world, give my wife and children the opportunities they deserve and I want to make an impact on a better world. And logically, a midlife crisis is gradually approaching and we will brave it.
