About Mathijs Steneker

I am a product leader at Adyen, currently heading Cards in APAC and our end-to-end payments product in Japan. I own and lead the regional product vision and strategy and set cross-functional teams up for success, strengthening Adyen’s leadership in payments in APAC and Japan specifically. In 2013 started my career at DataFactory, South America’s largest sports statistics provider, where I started pioneering the use or our data for internal scalability and decision-making as well as customer-facing products. Since joining Adyen in 2017, I’ve worked across Cards Acquiring - integrating with Visa, Mastercard, and other schemes across countries and regions - shipping features that drive acceptance and unlock new business models. Later, as Product Manager for Operational Scalability, I scaled a 6-person dev squad into three product teams with a clear objective, roadmap and measurable impact. Outside work you’ll find me exploring new cultures and staying close to sport - both playing and following padel and football, and turning up at sports events and concerts. Professional interests: IT, technology, psychology, research & analysis, data analysis, business process analysis and optimization, statistics, sports statistics.
