About Mathius Simmons

Hello, my name is Mathius Justin Simmons, a 6'2 African American male whose passion is to become a producer and storyteller in television and film. Many assumed in the past, that I would gravitate toward sports because of my 6'2 stature, especially in basketball, but no. Media, Television, and Film allow me the opportunity to entertain, create, and design. In addition, to creating, I write stories that speak mainly to the African American community and stories that will cultivate new perspectives and change narratives. Back in my tender years, I started out acting on stage and being in productions but as I began to become of age I wheeled into Tv and Film, where I became the production. What sparked my interest in entertainment in the first place was making others laugh. I enjoy making others laugh because we live in an era where people are experiencing grief, and hardships at their highest point. I consider Laughter healing and therapeutic because it brings peace back into the lives that lost it. Therefore I see entertainment, film, and media as medicine for the soul and hopefully, one day I am the one to help heal those who needed it most.
