About Matic Zamuda

As an Surveillance Area Air Traffic Controller at Slovenia Control Ltd, I am responsible for managing airspace and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic within the Ljubljana Flight Information Region (FIR). My role involves applying advanced area control techniques and utilizing state-of-the-art systems to maintain safety and optimize operational air traffic management. In addition to my air traffic control training, I have extensive experience as a Pseudo Pilot at the Slovenia Control ATC Flight School. In this role, I simulate real-time flight scenarios to assist in the practical training of air traffic controllers, enhancing their decision-making capabilities in dynamic environment. This hands-on involvement has further deepened my understanding of both pilot and controller perspectives, crucial for effective air traffic management. Furthermore, I am engaged with the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA) as a Corresponding Member of the Technical and Operations Committee (TOC), where I contribute to the discussion and development of international ATM standards and best practices. Alongside my operational work, I am broadening my understanding of transportation systems through my studies in Transport and Logistics at the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, further strengthening my interdisciplinary perspective on aviation and global mobility. I am also an ultralight pilot at Akademija 4, where I am honing my practical flight skills using the Pipistrel Alpha Trainer. My diverse experience has equipped me with a broad skill set in air traffic control, flight simulation, operations management, and aviation training. I am driven by a commitment to advancing aviation safety, operational efficiency, and innovation, with a long-term goal of contributing to the development of global standards in air traffic management.
