About Matilda Ciccola

Over the past five years, I have undertaken numerous internships and professional experiences with strong commitment and a high level of personal and professional satisfaction. During this time, I have explored a variety of roles and responsibilities, which have enabled me to develop a comprehensive and well-structured skill set. My academic background began with a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Urbino. I subsequently pursued and obtained a Master’s degree in Veterinary Biotechnology at the University of Milan (La Statale). Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently complemented my theoretical studies with substantial technical and practical work. My first significant experience was a ten-month internship at the Istituto Zooprofilattico of Umbria and Marche. I later embraced the opportunity to undertake a traineeship abroad, which led me to the Institute for Animal Science (Institut für Tierwissenschaften), in the Department of Physiology at the University of Bonn, Germany. Upon returning to Italy, I began a new internship in the research laboratory of the University of Milan, specifically in the Molecular Biology department. This was followed by a collaboration with the university’s Veterinary Hospital. Subsequently, I completed a six-month internship at the San Concordio Veterinary Hospital in Lucca, and I am currently employed in the Serology and Disease Planning Department at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie. In particular, I would like to highlight my proficiency in a range of specific areas, including: laboratory techniques and serological diagnostics; scientific research; laboratory quality control and surveillance; and accreditation management, carried out in full compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17043, ISO 9001). I consider myself a patient, reliable, and enthusiastic professional. The diverse laboratories and research centers in which I have worked have consistently allowed me to perform my duties effectively and to recognize the fundamental importance of clear communication, mutual support, and a collaborative spirit within a team—values I strive to uphold at all times.
