About Matt Astle

A multi-disciplined BIM Professional with over 18 years of experience in strategic & project lead roles. I also have experience in working in a variety of different sectors including aviation, mission-critical, education, commercial, healthcare, and residential. My current role is UK MEP BIM Lead for the WSPs Building Services division. I am responsible for the governance and implementation of BIM and digital initiatives within our MEP discipline. I am also heavily involved in multiple Digital and computational Design initiatives both in the UK and Globally. I continually look to develop smarter internal processes, now focusing heavily on enabling engineers to take full use of the BIM toolset available to them. I have a strong understanding of Revit MEP, Autodesk Fabrication, CadMEP, Navisworks, and Autocad. I've developed skills and abilities in project management; people management presenting and training. I am able to build up good relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. I am ambitious, positive, and passionate about what I do. I am solutions-focused, an independent thinker, and a team player. I believe BIM is a way of working. About intelligent information, collaboration, and sharing, and not down to software packages. I have a keen interest in project workflows, interoperability between platforms, BIM protocols, and implementation.
