About Matt Bainum

Mechanic and Technician with a background in leadership and team building. Worked as a technical instructor and mentored others. Provided learning opportunities and prepared junior leaders for career advancement. Shared technical experiences and enhanced leadership skills while mentoring the group to function as one. Becoming a Career Advisor / Employment Representative for Military Veterans was a means to continue serving others. Established a local employer network that helped job seekers succeed and contributed to team efforts that elevated the organization's ranking at the state level. Encouraged participants to continue with job hunting efforts, participate in workshops, and complete training to become more competitive. Shared resources to provide additional options and enhanced success stories to help others find the motivation to continue and to find fulfillment in those accomplishments. Benefitted from learning different resources and alternative practices from others to increase productivity and save time. Used past work experience to recondition used bicycles providing individuals without personal transportation additional employment options. Reflecting on their increased positivity was a fulfilling reward for the effort. In the future, I hope to be able to help others in a time of need. Solving problems seems to be less of an effort when the response is genuine and improves someone else's life. Assisting with resources or managing the effort to make changes for the better seems to be its own reward to me. Outside of work, I enjoy lifting weights, spending time with my family, working on vehicles, trivia, history, movies, and traveling. I have been to some interesting locations around the world and met a lot of amazing people. The element of discovery and the different forms that comes in never ceases to amaze me.
