About Matt Bar

I’m a creative leader and educator dedicated to blending Hip Hop, Jewish learning, and community-building. I founded Bible Raps in 2008 to reimagine Jewish education through music. Now, as Co-Director of Rappers and Rabbis, I help lead a dynamic ecosystem that began as a top-ranked podcast and has since grown into a full-fledged movement—featuring albums, live events, retreats, fellowships, and a touring rap crew that includes, in my opinion, the world’s best Rapping Rabbi, Dvir Cahana. But Rappers and Rabbis is more than just music. We create spaces where diverse communities—Jewish, Black, Christian, Muslim, and beyond—come together to collaborate, reflect, and build mutual understanding. Within the safe, creative environment of a Hip Hop studio, we engage in difficult conversations, form unlikely bonds, and transform tension into truth. Our songs become bridges—linking cultures, religions, and perspectives in the name of peace. We’re also expanding into new territory with the upcoming podcast Reverends, Rappers, and Rabbis, continuing our mission to build bridges across faiths through conversation and creativity. Whether I’m writing music, producing events, managing projects, or facilitating cross-cultural collaborations, my focus stays rooted in connection—using music, art, and education to help make the world more united and spiritually alive.
