About Matt Bell

I am a chartered manager (CMgr MCMI) and recently qualified for an MBA with distinction. I have over 20 years of sales, marketing, and account management experience, of which the last 9 years have been in leadership roles. Having led the European Sales Team within the Fire & Building Products division of Element Materials Technology for the last 8 years, I recently started a new chapter as the Commercial Excellence Director. Within this new and exciting role, I concentrate on two critical areas;'Customer Experience' within which I help to set strategy, evolve processes, and chart the course for high-levels of customer service at every touchpoint, and 'Commercial Excellence' where I support the commercial team in defining our goals, analysing data and achieving sustainable growth at all levels of the business. Whilst my role is varied, I have a keen interest in good service and wholeheartedly believe that value-creation and exemplary customer service should be at the heart of all business relationships, and providing that you get this right, then it will ultimately lead to business success. I have had the good fortune to work for 4 blue-chip organisations across differing industries which has given me excellent commercial exposure in the fields of testing & certification, data & marketing, outsourcing, and compliance management. My genuine desire is to delight our customers and exceed their expectations through building relationships and understanding what is truly important to them. I am also fascinated by 'company culture' and I am driven to understand what motivates people and makes them perform at their best, after all, we spend a lot of time at work, and if it's enjoyable then we are all likely to be more productive. I recently completed 3 years (part-time) study at Sheffield Business School where I completed my Master's, this was a fantastic experience and has shown me the true value of continuous learning and development which I am sure will continue throughout my career.
