About Matt Bishop

I'm a dynamic entrepreneur with a unique mastery of both the technological and the creative, allowing me to develop meaningful products and experiences that have a profound impact on the user. In my current role as Co-Founder and Director of The Hub, I am responsible for the complete design and development of our online membership platform for jobseekers, that currently comes to market with pre-seed investment. The Hub platform was created with the needs of the jobseeker at the core - the challenges they face with the rise of automation in the recruitment process, the impact of social media, and the challenging economic conditions. Our solution has been to empower the job seeker through a comprehensive suite of tools, resources, community, and expert support that gives them everything they need to get their next job. My career journey has been diverse and wide-ranging, starting in scientific research and a PhD in neuroscience from Imperial College London, leading to the successful entrepreneurship I’ve enjoyed over the last 15 years. I've previously been founder of several businesses focused on community, collaboration, creativity, and the online space. These include The Buzz Hub Co, an online magazine and membership platform for local independent businesses to find easy access to networking, support, connection, and promotion; and Collab Creative, a one-stop digital marketing business that brought together independent creative professionals to create dynamic marketing teams that can fit with businesses of any size. Drawing from more than a decade of business leadership and a lifelong interest and aptitude in technology and design, I've cultivated a diverse and adaptable skillset. These include web design, full stack development, process automation, AI, graphic design, digital marketing, copywriting, SEO, web analytics, and media production. Notably, my work has been recognised with a Website of the Year award at the SME Hertfordshire Business Awards and being a finalist at the SME National Business Awards. As a leader, I have strong interpersonal skills and excel in problem-solving, improving workflows, optimizing costs, and enhancing customer experiences. The Hub platform has been the culmination of my personal and professional – bringing together my diverse skills and expertise, while aligning with my passion for building ventures that enrich lives. I’m pleased to say we’ve been receiving great feedback and hearing about the impact of the tools and features from day one….and we are only just getting started!
