About Matt Black

No one is good at everything. For most of my life, I had considered myself a Jack-of-all-trades, able to turn my hand (reasonably successfully) at almost anything. But after working in a wide range of sectors and with literally thousands of unique businesses, I discovered I am not good at everything at all. I am in fact REALLY good at just a few select things: fixing problems, creating opportunities, and generally helping others be GREAT at whatever they are committed to achieving. This realization pivoted the direction of my life from building companies, to wanting to be a catalyst for others to take on big challenges. My passion is inspiring growth for great brands, disrupting others if necessary, creating innovation and ideation culture, futurism, and equality. As a public speaker and advisor, one of my favorite activities is helping people visualize creating a dynamic competitive path for growth and with some entrepreneurial thinking, some steps to make it a reality FAST. This transforms thinking, excites, inspires, enables action, and creates value. ET is an incredibly powerful mindset and some basic methodology that I love sharing with the non-entrepreneurs or aspirational Serial founders out there. I have worn many hats —CEO, CMO, COO, Investor, Adviser, Visioneer, Mentor, Strategist, Fixer. and even “hired gun” As a result, I can manage multi-disciplinary projects and navigate complex challenges. In fact, my frenetic work style and short attention span (I am not the stick at one job for many years kind of guy…) means I thrive in fast-moving environments. I am looking for opportunities to share my unique personal skillset, and if needed bring a raft of professionals with me to create and effect inspiring business transformation. I am open to speaking ProBono for good causes and my investment portfolio is all ethical and value-driven, creating a positive impact in the world.
