About Matt Bostrom

I grew up in the logging industry beside my Grandpa, Sam Tyler. He was fearless, honest, compassionate, and calm. He taught me more about life in the first 13 years of my life than I will experience in the rest of it. He gave me a passion for equipment, people, the land, and God. His influence brought me to where I am today building this company, Advanced Land Management. After high school I spent a short time operating a forwarder and other various ground skidding equipment. As a result of the 2008 recession I was laid off and got my contracting license. During this time I did anything it took to make a living from custom haying, field mowing, and also piled slash for my uncle's company, D&S Logging Contractors.While piling of acres of slash I wanted to find a better way to deal with logging residues, this brought me to large scale mulchers to put the material back into the soil and not burn. From here we have expanded to reintegrating organic material of all types back into the soil including logging slash, orchards, semi-permanent crops, land clearing debris, forest fuels and large scale forestry plantations. ALM has also been a part of many habitat restoration projects for various watersheds, USDA, and private land owners. We have had the privilege to serve on projects throughout the northwest ranging from under an acre to over acres.My purpose in ALM is too develop new, innovative, and better ways to deal with issues on the land we live. My goal is to achieve this while providing great people with great jobs that they can rely on to supply for their families and continue to grow in ability and responsibility. I believe there are numerous ways to be continually improving our practices on how we deal with the relationship between industry, environment, and the general public.
