About Matt Brown
I am a former professional and semi-professional rugby player who has lived and played in England, South Africa, Australia, Italy, USA and in Ireland since 2007. I played representative rugby in England, Australia and USA and was a full time professional in Italy. As of this season 2023/24 I will be the assistant coach of Shannon RFC in Limerick, playing in Division 1A in the All Ireland League. The Summer of 2024 sees me working with Munster Under 18 Schools, whilst continuing my role as a Pathways coach with Munster. I was the Junior Cup coach at Glenstal Abbey, reaching the semi final of the Munster Junior Cup in 2015/16. Senior Cup Coach at CUS winning the Vinnie Murray Trophy in 2011. I have also been the head coach at Railway Union RFC and Galwegians RFC, winning the All Ireland Division 1B in 2014/15 Season. 2 Years coaching Old Wesley Under 21s. I am also Head Coach of Clanwilliam RFC, commencing this year, in Munster Division 1. Founder and Coach of the Wild Geese 7s team, the premier 7s team in Ireland.
